'I admire your thoroughness and tenacity. There have been many times I have wondered what emissions could possibly make their way to my son's and daughter's elementary school on College Street. I always side with science before falling victim to the fake plasticity of public relations men. We live in an era of troubling doublespeak and ethical shortcomings. Never in a million years would I-- or could I-- find it in the marrow of my bones to criticize or vilify someone for merely asking questions, seeking fairness, and searching out some quiet from all the background noise. Keep it up. This community needs people like you to stand up to the Billionaire and Millionaire Boys' Clubs.'- Binghamton Resident

In our community campaign against Bates Troy Healthcare Linens in Binghamton, NY, we have learned that when an industrial dry cleaning plant moves into a high density residential area there are problems. Dry cleaning produces odors and noises that are distasteful and bothersome for residents wishing to enjoy their homes. We organized a campaign to draw attention to the problems we faced. We even uncovered evidence that Bates Troy knowingly violated the Noise Control Ordinance after their engineers documented their illegal noise levels. Rather than comply with the law, Bates Troy offered us a bribe to shut up and move out.
We are calling on companies engaged in the commercial laundry business to voluntarily adopt a pro-community policy. For those companies that do so, Bates Troy Noisy Neighbor would like to offer Community Accreditation. If Advent Apparel is interested in receiving accreditation from us so that you may tell your community that you are a Good and Quiet Neighbor, email us at organizer (at) batestroynoisyneighbor.org. The accreditation process is rather simple: you must only demonstrate that you are more than 1500 feet from the nearest residential building and that you do not use cancer-causing chemicals.
Advent Apparel, we look forward to working with you,

We are Bates Troy Noisy Neighbor, a neighborhood organization of families concerned about the noise pollution produced by the Bates Troy Healthcare Linens dry-cleaning plant located at 151 Laurel Ave in Binghamton, NY 13905.
We are engaged in a campaign to bring attention to our community that is suffering under an onslaught of illegal annoying noises. We believe that the Zoning Board of Appeals made a negligent decision in allowing an industrial dry-cleaning plant to expand into a high-density residential area.
