Campaign Updates

March 18, 2010: Bates Troy continues to violate the law! This campaign will not stop until Bates Troy agrees to comply with the laws of the City of Binghamton.

April 15, 2009: Bates Troy stinks! Bates Troy's industrial dry cleaning odors are terrible. This morning they enveloped a one block radius of our residential area and upon leaving our home we were hit with a nasty smell. This smell violates the City of Binghamton Zoning Ordinance.

January 31, 2009: Bates Troy is officially violating the law. The City of Binghamton issued a notice of violation to Bates Troy yesterday for their recent disregard for the agreements they have made with the City. Bates Troy's response? They operated on Saturday, sending a clear message to the City that they don't mind getting another violation notice.

January 30, 2009: Bates Troy now wants to operate after 6 p.m. Yesterday, Bates Troy began operating their tunnel washer at approximately 8 p.m. This is in violation of their agreement with the City. It is also in violation of the Noise Control Ordinance which prohibits noises in excess of 55dBa. According to Bates Troy's sound measurements they are well above this legal limit. We ask all concerned citizens to Boycott Bates Troy and Tuxedo Junction.

December 11, 2008: Sound measurements provided by Bates Troy prove that they are violating the law. Get the evidence of Bates Troy's illegal noise

December 4, 2008: Bates Troy offered the founders of this community organization a bribe if we would end this campaign and move out of the area. We refused their money. Listen to Randy Widrick offer us a bribe.

Boycott Bates Troy and Tuxedo Junction

Every dollar you give to Bates Troy or Tuxedo Junction translates into more noise and odors for us. Please boycott Bates Troy.

Who Are We

We are Bates Troy Noisy Neighbor, a neighborhood organization of families concerned about the noise pollution produced by the Bates Troy Healthcare Linens dry-cleaning plant located at 151 Laurel Ave in Binghamton, NY 13905.

We are engaged in a campaign to bring attention to our community that is suffering under an onslaught of illegal annoying noises. We believe that the Zoning Board of Appeals made a negligent decision in allowing an industrial dry-cleaning plant to expand into a high-density residential area.
